Lieutenant General Mick Bednarek (U.S. Army, Retired) is the vice president of DEFENSE for Fluor Mission Solutions. He directs the Group’s DEFENSE business line providing scalable, rapid response contingency logistics, life support services, and construction for military, humanitarian, and disaster-response missions worldwide. Presently, he oversees projects in fifteen countries under various U.S. Government contracts, including the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program (LOGCAP), Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP), Professional Technical Services, and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) requirements.

Upon joining Fluor in 2017, Bednarek served as the director of the company’s LOGCAP Afghanistan mission leading a team of more than 6,500 personnel providing logistics, life support services, and operations & maintenance support to U.S. military forces operating at eleven sites throughout northern Afghanistan.

After nearly 40 years of military service, Bednarek retired from the U.S. Army in 2015. For his last military assignment, he served 26 months as the Senior Defense Official in Iraq and Chief of the Office of Security Cooperation in Baghdad.

Bednarek has served in a wide variety of senior command and staff positions in the United States, Middle East, Europe, and the Pacific. He has commanded at every echelon, from company to Army level, including the 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks Hawaii, and Commanding General, First Army Headquarters at Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois.
