Born in 1950. Mountaineering instructor, Himalayan mountaineer and mountain guide.

He has taken part in more than 300 expeditions to various mountains of the world as a participant

or organiser. He has climbed eleven 8,000m peaks, min. K2 (8611 m) by the South Pillar from the Chinese side.  He is the only Pole to have summited Mt. Everest (8848 m) 5 times. He made many ascents by difficult climbing routes in different regions of the Earth. He was a climbing partner of Jerzy Kukuczka, Adam Zyzak, Piotr Pustelnik, Janusz Majer, Krzysztof Wielicki and many other famous Himalayan climbers.

He is a member of the prestigious The Explorers Club in New York, an association

bringing together some 3,000 explorers and researchers from dozens of countries on all continents. He has received a number of awards and honours in the fields of photography and documentary film. Pawlowski's films have been shown at Mountain Festivals and on television. He has received awards and distinctions from the Minister of Sport for Outstanding Sports Achievements three times. He trains young adepts of mountaineering, organises expeditions and gives talks on mountain topics. He is still active, despite 50 years of experience in the mountains.
