Piotr Całbecki has been serving as the President of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region, Poland since 2006.


Before assuming the current role, he held several key positions, among others, as a director of the Department of Development and European Projects at the Toruń City Hall, as an advisor and plenipotentiary of the Mayor of Toruń for cooperation with the World Bank and secretary of the Provincial Team for European Integration. He emphasizes the importance of innovative policies, programs, and investments in his approach to managing the region, which has a population of 2 million inhabitants.


President Piotr Całbecki is the recipient of the Gold Cross of Merit for his achievements in the development of local government in Poland and the Order of Polonia Restituta awarded by the President of the Republic of Poland for outstanding services in the local community and achievements in local government work.
