Carlos Guerra

Professional with over 35 years of combined experience in the international, public, private and academic sectors, as well as in the diplomatic arena. Mr. Guerra currently holds the position of Manager of International Investment and Logistics Industry specialist at SelectFlorida (SF), the state’s official trade and investment promotion agency.  He is responsible for the promotion of Florida as a premier destination for investment and business development. He also oversees the Latin American and the Caribbean markets and collaborates with the SF international offices. He has participated and collaborated in the organization of several international export and inbound missions and trade shows. He has been recipient of several professional and academic recognitions in the U.S., Chile and Spain and is he is also member of different organizations in the U.S. and abroad. His previous professional experience included high level positions in the international trade and logistics industry, advisor and diplomatic experience in the consular arena.

Mr. Guerra possess a solid academic background graduated from prestigious academic institutions, including Univ. of Miami, Oxford university, England, Concepcion and Catholic universities in Chile, Temple University, Philadelphia, and St. Thomas, Miami, among others. He holds a Master of Arts in International Administration, a MA in International Relations, an Advanced Professional Degree in Global Affairs, and a bachelor’s degree in history and geography, with an emphasis in Economic Geography. Furthermore, he counts numerous technical training programs, certifications, courses, and international conferences. Parallel to his professional responsibilities, Mr. Guerra for many years has taught in different universities and colleges in the U.S. and abroad and he currently is teaching graduated courses at MAU University, Miami. Complimenting his professional activities, Mr. Guerra is an accomplished pianist and uses the music to approach the innovation process from a different perspective. He also volunteers to help less fortunate people.
